Ampuero
Spacious top floor apartment of 3, stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valley, next to the River Ason. Santander (Ferry and Airport ) is approximately 30 minutes drive and Bilbao (ferry and airport) is approximately 40 minutes drive. The Guggenheim Museum is well worth visiting. Excellent area for rural tourism, walking, cycling and canoeing. The sandy beaches of Laredo and Santona are approximately 15 minutes drive away. The surfing beaches of Noja and Isla are 20 minutes drive away. The Picos de Europas mountain range is about a 2 hour drive away and skiing in the winter in Alto Campo is an hour away.The village has a train station with trains into Santander and Bilbao. The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao offers the latest exhibitions and great shopping. Saturday markets are on in Ampuero and Santona. Castro on Thursday and Colindres on Friday.
